Deli Fit Out – Margo’s, Plymouth
Margo’s Deli, Plymouth
A fusion of restaurant and retail space
The plan for Margo’s Deli was to inject some Cuban passion into the streets of Plymouth. Occupying the ground floor retail unit of a brand new apartment block overlooking the grounds of Plymouth Cricket Club, Margo’s menu was always going to be bold and eclectic …and they needed a shopfitting partner who could deliver their dream style.
Farmhouse charm in a brand new unit
Margo’s was licensed, and needed lots of retail and display space for bottles and sundries. We installed a vast custom-built back bar, more than thirty feet wide, along one wall, and a curved retail island just inside of the glass doors. Space was at a premium, so we used vinyl to give the impression of a red brick interior wall at the back of the cafe. As soon as the deli counter and coffee machine were in situ, the clients needed something to temper the latin flair and ground the premises in its surroundings. We sourced spindleback chairs, painted white, to add some farmhouse familiarity.
Quality and utility that lasts for years
Sadly Margo’s is no longer trading, but we’re pleased to see that the tenants who subsequently moved into the space retained most of the features from the original fit out.
We organised the fitting of the shopfront, we knocked through the rear wall into the unit behind and created a unisex w/c and a kitchen area.
